Am I the Right Therapist for You?
Finding the right therapist can be tricky. I've been there myself. Searching online, profile after profile with each therapist telling you they can help you with, well, everything. It's overwhelming. And it all sounds the same. You can spend hours searching only to leave with the question "How do I know which therapist right for me if they all do the same thing?".
Therapy is also an investment of finances, time and energy into yourself, and your therapist. It's a personal and frankly quite vulnerable thing to embark on. So you want to get it right and you want to actually like the person you'll be opening up to.
I want to make choosing the right therapist easier for you.
So let me tell you a bit about me...

I'm Becca.
I'm a people-person, a nature-lover and yoga practicer. I have a novelty seeking mind and two cats who teach me the importance of slowing down.
I'm also just a gal who enjoys a glass of wine and a share bag of crisps (to myself) while watching Ru Paul - can I get an amen up in here!
That's the person behind the therapy.
Now on to the professional bit...
I'm not limited to solely supporting with the following, but my special area of interest and experience is in the following...
Food & Body Image Issues
When your mind is consumed by obsessive food thoughts and food rules, every meal time can feel like an exhausting battle you're going to lose. Perhaps you're full of shame because you feel like you can't control yourself around food or you're stuck in the binge-restrict cycle. Or maybe you've spent your life chasing a number on the scale to still never feel enough.
I take a weight-inclusive approach to therapy which focuses on developing your understanding of your relationship to food and your body and supporting you towards food freedom and body acceptance.
Suicide
Support
When life feels unbearable, suicide can start to feel like a way out of that pain. Perhaps you feel like such a burden on others or like you don't see a future for yourself and thoughts of suicide have started to creep in. You might feel ashamed and conflicted about these thoughts and unsure of where to turn.
Therapy can help you better understand what these thoughts are trying to communicate to you and help you navigate them in a safe, manageable way.
Sexual Trauma & Domestic Abuse
If you've experienced sexual trauma or domestic abuse you might find yourself questioning who you are and how to trust others again. Maybe you're struggling with shame, self-doubt and self-blame. You might be feeling disconnected from yourself and the world around you.
Therapy can give you a space to make sense of how you're responding to what you've experienced and rebuild a sense of identity and safety again.
